1 PETER 1:6-7 NLT
6 So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you
have to endure many trials for a little while. 7 These trials will show
that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies
gold - though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So
when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring
you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ
is revealed to the whole world.
It’s a choice between PEACE and PANIC.
30 Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, “We should
go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.”
31 But the men who had gone up with him said, “We can’t attack
those people; they are stronger than we are.” 32 And they spread
among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored.
They said, “The land we explored devours those living in it. All the
people we saw there are of great size.
33 We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from
the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we
looked the same to them.”
1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the
shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the LORD, “He is my
refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” 3 Surely he will
save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will
find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. 5 You
will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that
destroys at midday.
14 “Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I
will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in
trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”
